Biomechanical evaluation of kyphoplasty with calcium sulfate cement in a cadaveric osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture model

Use of CSC for kyphoplasty yields similar vertebral body strength and stiffness as compared with PMMA. It may be a useful alternative bone cement for kyphoplasty. Further studies are required to assess the bioabsorption of CSCs after kyphoplasty in vivo.
