Sex, sexuality and relationships for young people with learning disabilities

Learning about sex, sexuality and relationships is a significant part of growing up for all young people. Access to good quality information and advice on sexual health, relationships, sexuality and related issues is an important part of this learning. Children and young people with learning disabilities are less likely than others to have access to this. This is common and occurs for a range of reasons including a lack of appropriate resources, professionals not knowing where to find information and societal attitudes to disability and sexuality.
