Exchange-rate economics in transition countries

This introduction of the special issue of Economic Systems gives the motivation for and a general introduction to (equilibrium) exchange-rate economics in transition economies. It addresses key issues related to the theoretical background and discusses the estimation techniques for assessing equilibrium exchange rates in transition economies, and then provides a short description of the papers in this special issue.
