Improved complex spectral domain OCT for in vivo eye imaging

Complex Spectral domain Optical Coherence Tomography (CSdOCT) increases twice the depth of imaging in comparison with SdOCT by suppressing one of the mirror images. We present a new method of data processing, which further reduces the residual mirror images in CSdOCT. The method takes into account object movements, always present in experiments in vivo, which introduce unpredictable phase shifts. The method is free of polychromatic phase error originating from the wavelength dependence of the phase shift introduced by the reference mirror translation. Tomograms of the anterior chamber of the human eye in vivo are chosen to demonstrate a potential of the technique.
