High-order self-assembly of G-quadruplex DNA: Nano-network formation under the guidance of arene ruthenium(II) complexes

Arene ruthenium(II) complex RAP-11 ([Ru(η6-cymene)(p-ClPIP)Cl]Cl, p-ClPIP: 2-(4-Chlorophenyl)imidazole[4,5f][1,10]-phenanthroline) can insert into the minor groove of G-quadruplex DNA. Moreover, the benzene ring coordinated with Ru atom close to each other through π-π stacking between two RAP-11 molecules, which effectively help well-ordered arrangement of G-quadruplex DNA to form nano-network structure.326
