The terms of probiotics, probiosis and prebiotics were explained. The addition of probiotics and/or prebiotics to the diet of artificially fed newborns has an influence on the modification of jejunum microflora. Probiotics and prebiotics act in a multidirectional way, having a positive impact on the organism, acting both as prophylaxis and treatment.
