Angiotensin I converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitory peptides from salmon byproduct protein hydrolysate by Alcalase hydrolysis

► Angiotensin I converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitory peptides were produced from salmon byproduct protein. ► ACE inhibitory peptides were purified and peptide sequences were identified by Q-TOF-LC-MS/MS. ► Three sequences identified as VWDPPKFD (P1, IC50 = 9.10 μM), FEDYVPLSCF (P2, IC50 = 10.77 μM) and FNVPLYE (P4, IC50 = 7.72 μM). ► The P1 acts as non-competitive, and P2 and P4 having a mixed inhibition mode.
