Continuous separation of succinic acid and lactic acid by using a three-zone simulated moving bed process packed with Amberchrom-CG300C

► The SMB for continuous separation of succinic acid and lactic acid was developed. ► The SMB consisted of 3 zones and its columns were packed with Amberchrom-CG300C. ► The SMB was optimized on the basis of the intrinsic parameters determined at 40 °C. ► The relevant three-zone SMB experiment was carried out at 40 °C. ► It verified that the continuous separation of the two organic acids was successful.
