High efficiency bioethanol production from barley straw using a continuous pretreatment reactor

► We developed a new continuous pretreatment process. ► SSF was performed to investigate the optimal enzyme and biomass dosage. ► We introduced BTER concept for producing high-efficiency bioethanol. ► The results constitute a significant contribution to the production of bioethanol from lignocellulosic biomass.
