Disubstituted dialkoxysilane precursors in binary and ternary sol-gel systems for lipase immobilization

► Disubstituted diethoxysilane precursors were used for novel binary and ternary sol-gel Lipase AK. ► The DMDEOS sol-gel lipases were used in kinetic resolutions of racemic secondary alcohols. ► The DMDEOS sol-gel lipases exhibited enhanced activity yield and enantioselectivity. ► The DMDEOS sol-gel lipases were robust biocatalysts in continuous-flow biotransformations. ► The properties of ternary DMDEOS sol-gel lipases proved to be fine-tunable by the composition.
