Denitrifying activity via nitrite and N2O production using acetate and swine wastewater

► Variables affecting the denitrifying activity and the N2O production were evaluated. ► Type organic carbon sources were important factor during denitrification. ► The specific denitrifying activity was favor using swine wastewater. ► N2O production was only detected when swine slurry was used as carbon source. ► N2O production rate was closely related to the denitrifying activity.
