Comparison of Amberchrom-CG161C and Dowex99 as the adsorbent of a four-zone simulated moving bed process for removal of acetic acid from biomass hydrolyzate

► Amberchrom-CG161C was compared with Dowex99 in separation of acetic acid from sugars. ► Amberchrom-CG161C was found better as the adsorbent of SMB for the target separation. ► This was due to higher selectivity of acetic acid and sugars on Amberchrom-CG161C.
