Downstream processing of luciferase from fireflies (Photinus pyralis) using aqueous two-phase extraction

► Firefly luciferase was extracted using aqueous two-phase system. ► The process parameters for extraction were optimized. ► Purification of 13.69-fold and activity recovery 118.34% was obtained.
