Increased expression level and catalytic activity of internally-duplicated carbonic anhydrase from Dunaliella species by reconstitution of two separate domains

► High production and activation of internally-duplicated carbonic anhydrase (CA). ► Expressing each half-domain as distinct protein is more producible (2-5-fold higher). ► More CA activity was achieved by mixing N- and C-half domains (2-4-fold higher).
