Valorization of cellulose over metal supported mesoporous materials

► Hydrolytic hydrogenation was performed over metal modified mesoporous materials. ► Pt-MCM-48 along with H-MCM-48 were tested. ► Industrially produced birch cellulose kraft pulp was used as substrate. ► Brønsted acidity was essential for formation of xylose and glucose.
