Rheological behavior and properties of bitumen modified with polymeric coated precipitated calcium carbonate

► Precipitated calcium carbonate was coated by a thin layer of pectin and used as a modifier of bitumen. ► A chemical interaction between phases and a good dispersion and distribution of PCC was observed. ► Modified bitumen showed a decrease in penetration as well as good storage stability.
