Assessing true and false belief in young children with cerebral palsy through anticipatory gaze behaviours: A pilot study

► Traditional methods of assessing false belief understanding are not suitable for developmentally young children with severe motor impairments. ► We examine the use of a new action anticipation and eye-tracking technique with children with quadriplegic cerebral palsy and language delay. ► We highlight the potential of this approach for the assessment of socio-cognitive abilities in children characterised as 'hard to assess'.
