Challenging behaviors among children with autism spectrum disorders and multiple disabilities attending special schools in Singapore

► We sought to understand the factors which impact upon challenging behaviors. ► Children with autism spectrum disorders and multiple disabilities were rated. ► The teachers completed the Developmental Behavior Checklist, Teacher Version. ► Children with ASD exhibit elevated levels of challenging behavior in all areas. ► In addition, age was associated with only disruptive/antisocial behaviors.
