Immune responses to Helicobacter pylori infection in children with intellectual disabilities

► Serum Helicobacter pylori IgG antibody was detected in 74.8% of intellectual disabled children. ► The likelihood of H. pylori IgG positive response was increased with age. ► Institutionalization of more than 49 months affected positive H. pylori IgG response. ► Anti-CagA antibody titers were positive in 58.6% of intellectual disabled children.
