Preparation, characterization of hydrophilic and hydrophobic drug in combine loaded chitosan/cyclodextrin nanoparticles and in vitro release study

▶ We have prepared the compound nanoparticles of chitosan and cyclodextrin loading with hydrophilic and hydrophobic drug simultaneously. ▶ Methotrexate and calcium folinate are selected as the mode drugs. ▶ We examine the loading capacity, size, zeta potential and surface morphology of the nanoparticles. ▶ The chitosan/cyclodextrin nanoparticles exhibit stronger sustained release effect comparing to chitosan nanoparticles and the release mechanism followed a non-Fickian type behavior.
