Effect of process conditions on the removal of phospholipids from Jatropha curcas oil during the degumming process

► We designed a multistep process to remove phospholipids from Jatropha oil. ► The temperature, amount of acid solution, and centrifuging speed have significant effects. ► Optimal values for operating parameters in this process were obtained. ► The kinematic viscosity and carbon residue of pure plant oil were also discussed.
