Extraction and third phase formation behavior of Eu(III) IN CMPO-TBP extractants present in room temperature ionic liquid

▶ Higher extraction of Eu(III) in CMPO-TBP-ionic liquid systems. ▶ Loading of Eu(III) is much higher in ionic liquid medium. ▶ Room temperature ionic liquid prevents undesirable third phase formation. ▶ Stoichiometry varies from 1:3 at trace levels to 1:1 at higher loading. ▶ Requirement of TBP can be minimized with the use of ionic liquid diluent.
