Wavelet neural networks applied to pulping of oil palm fronds

► We model the organosolv pulping of the oil palm fronds. ► We study the influence of the operational variables on pulp and paper properties. ► Utilization of wavelet neural networks (WNNs) show superior predictive ability. ► WNNs outperformed polynomial model with a prediction error of less than 6%.
