Microbial removal from the separated liquid fraction of anaerobically digested pig manure in meso-scale integrated constructed wetlands

► Microbial removal from liquid fraction of manure examined in meso-scale ICW's. ► Salmonella undetectable in influent and Escherichia coli and Enterococcus rarely detected. ► Flow through cells reduced coliform, yeasts and moulds and spore-forming bacteria. ► Counts varied with season with coliform highest in the Summer. ► In future could spike influence with antibiotic-marked pathogen to track within ICW.
