Flocculation performance of a cationic biopolymer derived from a cellulosic source in mild aqueous solution

► The flocculation behavior of cationic cellulosic biopolymers, CDACs, were studied. ► CDACs possess a high flocculation activity in neutral and acidic solutions. ► Low activity and charge decrease in alkaline solutions (pH >9). ► Variation of NaCl content and temperature do not affect the flocculation activity. ► No notable decrease in activity after several days of storage in water solution.
