Inactivation of Amphidinium sp. in ballast waters using UV/Ag-TiO2Â +Â O3 advanced oxidation treatment

► Combined ultraviolet/Ag-TiO2 + ozone processes was applied for ballast water treatment. ► The combined tests yield different removal of tested Amphidinium sp. from that of E. coli. ► Combined process has high operational flexibility and low space/cost need. ► Combined process is promising for onboard ballast waters treatment.
