Optimization of 2,3-dihydroxybiphenyl 1,2-dioxygenase expression and its application for biosensor

► We optimize the expression of 2,3-dihydroxybiphenyl 1,2-dioxygenase. ► We verify the results of optimization experiments by SDS-PAGE. ► Free BphC_LA-4 show poor binding affinity towards 4-methylcatechol. ► We apply BphC_LA-4 to the fabrication of enzyme electrode. ► The BphC_LA-4 electrode show good response to several catecholic compounds.
