A high throughput method and culture medium for rapid screening of phosphate accumulating microorganisms

► Present study describes novel medium (PAM) for screening phosphate-accumulating organisms. ► PAM serves as a synergistic microbiological growth medium for preferential screening of PAOs. ► Efficiency of screening PAOs enhanced by PAM-TBO assay in 96 well microplate platform. ► Our simple high throughput protocol significantly reduced time for screening PAOs. ► It is envisaged that use of this protocol will be salutary for the quick screening of PAOs.
