An improved bioprocess for synthesis of acetohydroxamic acid using DTT (dithiothreitol) treated resting cells of Bacillus sp. APB-6

▸ The amidase of Bacillus sp. APB-6 shows good acyltransfer activity. ▸ Feeding N-methylacetamide into the production medium enhanced acyltransferase activity. ▸ This is the first report where DTT has been used in acyltransfer reaction. ▸ High molar conversion (93%) of amide to hydroxamates at 1 L scale was achieved.
