Safe lipid nanocapsule-based gel technology to target lymph nodes and combat mediastinal metastases from an orthotopic non-small-cell lung cancer model in SCID-CB17 mice

After intravenous administration, gemcitabine-loaded lipid nanocapsules are in the blood and expose the highly vascuarized lung (Figure A) and combat primary tumor implanted in the left lobe (Ma44-3 cell line) (circles in Figure A and B). After subcutaneous administration, gemcitabine-loaded lipid nanocapsules accumulate in mediastinal lymph node (arrows in Figure B) and combat only mediastinal disseminated metastases.
