Innate immune humoral factors, C1q and factor H, with differential pattern recognition properties, alter macrophage response to carbon nanotubes

Nanoparticles including carbon nanotubes can interact with complement system. Complement deposition on carbon nanotubes due to classical pathway can enhance phagocytosis and anti-inflammatory response by immune cells.
