In vivo biodistribution and clearance of peptide amphiphile micelles

Peptide amphiphiles (PAs) are a growing class of biomaterials for medical applications. Towards translation of PAs from laboratories to clinics, in vivo studies regarding the safety of these nanomaterials are required. To examine the toxicity of PA biomaterials, fluorescently-labeled, spherical PA micelles and control micelles without a peptide sequence were examined in a murine model and biocompatibility, biodistribution, and clearance investigated.232
