Safety of the intravenous administration of neurotensin-polyplex nanoparticles in BALB/c mice

The NTS-polyplex consists of nanoparticles (~ 150 nm) that result from the compaction of a plasmid pEGFP-N1 via the electrostatic binding of the NTS-carrier. The intravenous injection of NTS-polyplex did not increase the serum levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines and liver function markers. Our results support the safety of NTS-polyplex nanoparticles.117
