Differential cell responses to nanoparticle docetaxel and small molecule docetaxel at a sub-therapeutic dose range

The cellular response of tumor and normal cells to nanoparticle formulations of docetaxel is different from that of small molecule docetaxel at the sub-therapeutic dose. Our work suggests that this difference may be due to the controlled release property of nanoparticles, which causes cells to be exposed to a lower concentration of docetaxel.249
