The interface between morphology and phonology: Exploring a morpho-phonological deficit in spoken production

► An aphasic patient was tested on words containing coda clusters of varying sonority. ► His errors simplified phonological structure in multi- but not mono-morphemic words. ► Analyses suggest a deficit in the ability to concatenate morphemes allowed grammar to make repairs. ► These data represent the first description of a morpho-phonological impairment.
