Neurogenesis interferes with the retrieval of remote memories: Forgetting in neurocomputational terms

► In this study we use a neurocomputational model of the main hippocampal circuitry. ► We look for a relationship between adult neurogenesis and forgetting. ► We found that adult neurogenesis is related to the forgetting of old information. ► The model predictions are concordant with empirical findings related to the issue.
