The relationship between perfectionism, agency, and communion: A longitudinal mixed methods analysis

► Students participated in a 2-wave, 130-day, mixed methods, longitudinal design. ► Perfectionism was positively correlated with themes of agency coded from narratives. ► Perfectionism was uncorrelated with themes of communion coded from narratives. ► Perfectionistic concerns and perfectionism cognitions were the strongest correlates. ► Agency was central to the narratives of perfectionists transitioning to university.
