Polymer solutions in co-rotating Taylor-Couette flow without vorticity

► We investigated the flow of polymer solutions in co-rotating Taylor-Couette flow. ► The cylinder rotations are chosen to generate a flow that is free of vorticity. ► We find that the stresses are identical to those in plane shear flow. ► For shear thinning solutions the angular velocity becomes non-monotonic.
