Synchronization in lattice-embedded scale-free networks

► We embed non-linear phase oscillators in a two-dimensional scale-free lattice. ► The low dimensionality of the embedding lattice hinders global synchronization. ► We find local synchronized clusters at different mean frequencies. ► As in non-embedded systems, hubs are the first nodes to synchronize.
