PageRank model of opinion formation on social networks

► The PageRank model of opinion formation on directed networks is proposed. ► It is tested on networks of the Universities of Cambridge and Oxford, LiveJournal, and Twitter. ► It is shown that the society elite can impose its opinion on the society. ► Bistability appears for an elite with divided opinions. ► Totalitarian opinion is more strongly pronounced for the LiveJournal and Twitter networks.
