Users structure and behavior on an online social network during a political protest

► We studied a Venezuelan protest on Twitter by complex network analysis. ► Three types of user behavior provoked the structural and dynamical patterns found. ► The retweets are the mechanism used for the information propagation process. ► Users group around specific collectives and behave selectively when taking action. ► Despite the social usage, traditional media hold lots of influence among users.
