Kac's ring: Entropy and Poincaré recurrence

► The entropy of the Kac ring is shown to be a periodic function of the Poincaré recurrence time. ► “Recurrence of statistical fluctuations” has been demonstrated for this model. ► These results add to our understanding of the Second Law.
