Ancient DNA analysis on Clonorchis sinensis eggs remained in samples from medieval Korean mummy

► We tried to identify the genus Clonorchis eggs in samples obtained from a 17th-century human remain. ► We found Clonorchis sinensis eggs by microscopic observation, and a PCR-based aDNA analysis was performed. ► The results were 100% homologous to some contemporary C. sinensis gene sequences from East Asia. ► These results can be broaden in its temporal and geographical research of C. sinensis infection.
