Identification of xyloglucan endotransglucosylase/hydrolase genes (XTHs) and their expression in persimmon fruit as influenced by 1-methylcyclopropene and gibberellic acid during storage at ambient temperature

► Two XTH cDNAs from persimmon fruit were cloned. ► 1-MCP treatment and GA3 treatment delayed persimmon fruits softening and suppressed the expression of XTHs genes. ► Persimmon fruit softening was related to both DKXTH1 and DKXTH2 expression.
