The use of Fourier transform mid infrared (FT-MIR) spectroscopy for detection and quantification of adulteration in virgin coconut oil

► Sunflower and corn oils can be potential adulterant in high price value oil of virgin coconut oil (VCO). ► FTIR spectroscopy combined with partial least square can quantify the levels of sunflower and corn oils in VCO. ► Discriminant analysis can classify VCO and VCO added with sunflower and corn oils.
