Taiwanofungus camphorata nitroreductase: cDNA cloning and biochemical characterisation

► We cloned and expressed functional nitroreductase cDNA from Taiwanofungus camphorata. ► A 3-D structural model of the TcNr was created based on the known structure of Bacillus cereus. ► This TcNr enzyme's properties including kinetic data were studied. ► The enzyme is capable of reducing some nitrocompounds that are known to post potential health risks.
