Dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction for the determination of organochlorine pesticides residues in honey by gas chromatography-electron capture and ion trap mass spectrometric detection

► DLLME has been used for the first time for this type of analysis. ► The method allows the efficient extraction of organochlorine pesticides from honey. ► The analytical performance of GC-ECD and GC-IT/MS were compared and discussed. ► The LODs were ranged in 0.4-3 and 0.2-4 ng g−1 for GC-ECD and GC-IT/MS respectively. ► The figures of merit of the method fulfil the EU legislation criteria.
