Azuki bean (Vigna angularis) extract inhibits the development of experimentally induced atopic dermatitis-like skin lesions in NC/Nga mice

► The effects of azuki bean on atopic dermatitis in NC/Nga mice were investigated. ► Atopic dermatitis-like lesions were induced by applying 1-chloro-2,4-dinitrobenzene. ► Atopic dermatitis-like lesions were inhibited by azuki bean extract treatment. ► Production of immune cells and mediators was decreased in treated groups. ► Azuki bean extract may be an effective alternative therapy for atopic dermatitis.
