Identification of ambiguous cubeb fruit by DART-MS-based fingerprinting combined with principal component analysis

► Cubeb berries in the markets were studied for the identification of their origins. ► DART-MS fingerprinting combined with multivariate analysis was employed. ► Cubebene was identified as a marker molecule for Piper cubeba. ► All cubeb fruits from Korean markets were Litsea cubeba. ► Rapid identification of cubeb fruits can be possible by DART-MS fingerprinting.
