Effect of oral administration of water-soluble extract from citrus peel (Citrus unshiu) on suppressing alcohol-induced fatty liver in rats

► Effect of water soluble citrus peel extract on suppressing alcohol induced fatty liver was investigated. ► Water soluble citrus peel extract was obtained from citrus peels by ultrasound assisted extraction. ► Oral intake of water soluble citrus peel extract with alcohol effectively suppressed hepatic lipid formation.
